Balance

Rolling Stone Magazine 1980

I chose this image for balance because of how iconic it is. The image shows a speaker on the left looking very stable and geometric while on the right a man in chair is being blown away as well as his cup and lamp. This is a great representation of asymmetrical balance creating unity having the large speaker on one side and another rectangular object (or objects) on the other side. Though its not perfect symmetry it is balanced due to the smaller object being closer to the edge and the bigger object(s) being closer to the center. It also does a great job of using negative space and having the horizontal line in towards the bottom in the background to help give the composition stability. A great representation of balance and great composition as a whole.
